Neuer : Saya tak mau bicarakan masa depan dulu

MANCHESTER – Manuel Neuer harus menerima kenyataan gagal mengantarkan timnya Schalke 04, melaju ke final Liga Champions usai dihentikan Manchester United. Schalke menyerah 4-1 pada laga leg kedua semifinal dan kalah dengan total agregat 6-1.

Kiper internasional Jerman ini harus berpikir ulang mengenai kelanjutan kariernya di musim mendatang. Neuer menyatakan masih ingin bermain di Liga Champions musim depan, namun dia menolak membicarakan kemungkinan transfer di akhir musim ini.

Neuer menyebutkan timnya gagal bermain apik dan menunjukan performa maksimal pada pertandingan di Old Traffor, dini hari tadi. Itulah penyebab The Royal Blues harus menyerah 4-1, dari tuan rumah Setan Merah.

Kiper 25 tahun ini sebenarnya sempat tampil heroik pada laga leg pertama di Veltins Arena, pekan lalu, meski harus kalah 2-0. Sayang, Neuer gagal mengulang aksi terbaiknya dan harus kebobolan empat kali.

"Lagi, laga ini bukanlah hari yang baik buat kami. Ini sama dengan performa kami di leg pertama. Seharusnya kami bisa menunjukan penampilan terbaik dan melaju ke final. Tapi, kami gagal," jelas Neuer seperti disitat Sky Sports, Kamis (5/5/2011).

Mengenai spekulasi tentang masa depannya, Neuer menolak berkomentar banyak. Kiper nomor satu Timnas Jerman ini belum mau memikirkannya, kendati dia berharap bisa kembali tampil di Liga Champions musim depan.

"Saya tidak ingin membicarakan masa depan sekarang. Liga Champions kompetisi tertinggi di Eropa dan saya ingin bermain di kompetisi ini musim depan," lanjut Neuer mengenai masa depannya.

Schalke sendiri saat ini hanya berada d posisi 10 klasemen sementara Bundesliga. Sudah tertutup peluang The Rotyal Blues untuk bisa kembali berpartisipasi di kompetisi Liga Champions musim depan. Opsi bagi Neuer adalah hijrah ke klub lain yang lolos ke Liga Champions.
