Patrick Kluivert Appointed as Coach of Indonesian National Team

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially appointed former Dutch football star Patrick Kluivert as the new head coach of the Indonesian national team. Kluivert, who has an impressive career as both a player and a coach, will be tasked with leading the Garuda Squad to the 2026 World Cup.

Kluivert's appointment comes after the unexpected dismissal of former coach Shin Tae-yong. The Dutch legend has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend, and will be assisted by two Dutch assistant coaches, Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat, as well as two local Indonesian coaches.

Kluivert expressed his excitement about the opportunity, stating that the support of fans is crucial for the team's success. His debut as Indonesia's coach will be the two third-round matches of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Australia and Bahrain on March 20 and 25.
