Berba Masih Puasa Gol di Eropa

Manchester - Dimitar Berbatov punya cerita di Eropa. Kendati musim ini subur di Premier League, ia belum satu kali pun mencetak gol di kompetisi Eropa. Catatan itu menambah panjang puasa golnya di Eropa.

Di kancah Premier League, Berba adalah bomber tersubur dengan torehan 21 gol. Jumlah tersebut melebih torehan gol nama-nama tenar lainnya, seperti Carlos Tevez, Robin van Persie ataupun Didier Drogba. Tapi, lihat catatan Berba di Eropa.

Di musim ini, bomber 31 tahun asal Bulgaria itu belum juga mencetak gol. Terakhir kali Berba mencetak gol di Eropa ketika mencetak dua gol saat MU mengalahkan Celtics pada Oktober 2008.

Ini berarti, Berba sudah lewat dua tahun tak mencetak gol di ajang Liga Champions.

Eks bomber Tottenham Hotspur itu sebenarnya punya kesempatan untuk menorehkan gol pada laga melawan Schalke, Kamis (5/5/2011) dinihari WIB. Itu terjadi ketika dirinya menerima umpan terobosan Antonio Valencia di sisi kanan.

Berba yang berada di dalam kotak penalti memiliki kans untuk melepaskan tembakan, namun ia akhirnya lebih memilih untuk memberikannya kepada Anderson yang berada di depan gawang. Dan, jadilah peluang di menit 76 itu menjadi gol Anderson.

Masih ada kesempatan bagi Berba untuk mengakhiri paceklik golnya. Kesempatan itu hadir di laga final 28 Mei mendatang, kalau ia dimainkan. Mampukah Berba mengakhirinya?
