Irfan Bachdim Siap Kembali ke timnas

Pesepakbola berdarah Belanda Irfan Bachdim mengaku sudah siap kembali memperkuat tim nasional (timnas) Indonesia. Kali ini, Irfan akan membela skuad muda Merah Putih di ajang SEA Games XXVI pada November mendatang. Irfan yang bermain di Liga Primer Indonesia (LPI) bersama Persema Malang telah dipanggil masuk seleksi timnas U-23 SEA Games.

Pemanggilan itu berdasarkan surat Satuan Pelaksana Program Indonesia Emas (Satlak Prima) No 634/PRIMA-UM/IV/2011 yang ditanda tangani Ketua Prima Tono Suratman pada Sabtu (29/4).

“That’s (dipanggil seleksi) the best news. Saya akan berusaha yang terbaik untuk Indonesia. Saya selalu siap untuk Indonesia dan sangat senang jika bisa kembali ke timnas,” ujar Irfan dalam pesan singkatnya kepada SP, Senin (2/5).

Irfan yang dalam waktu dekat akan tampil di layar emas lewat film Tendangan Dari Langit produksi Sinemart ini mengaku tidak akan menyia-nyiakan kesempatan ini.

“Sepakbola itu mimpi saya. Meskipun bermain film, saya tidak akan pernah lupa latihan dan pasti saya akan berbuat yang terbaik agar tidak kehilangan impian ini,” katanya.

Satlak Prima juga memanggil rekan setim Irfan di Persema Malang, Kim Jeffrey Kurniawan. Selain itu, 15 pemain LPI lainnya seperti Andik Vermansyah (Persebaya 1927) dan Samsul Arif (Persibo) juga akan berkompetisi untuk memperkuat Garuda Muda.

Sebanyak 29 pemain dari Liga Super Indonesia (LSI) dan empat pemain yaitu Diego Michiels (Pelita Jaya), Ruben Wuarbanaran (Pelita Jaya), Stefano Lilipaly (FC Uthrecht), dan Joey Suk (FC Deventer).

Para atlet akan menjalani tes kesehatan di Hotel Atlet Century Park, Rabu (4/5), tes fisik 5-6 Mei, dan pendidikan karakter di Batujajar, Jawa Barat pada 7-21 Mei nanti. Timnas U-23 dilatih oleh pelatih kepada Rahmad Darmawan dan dimanajeri Kol Inf Made Agra.
