Jaga Loyalitas, Raul tetap bertahan di Schalke

GELSENKIRCHEN – Striker Raul Gonzalez menegaskan akan bertahan di Gelsenkirchen, meski Schalke urung melenggang ke final Liga Champions.

Masa depan Raul bersama The Royal Blues menjadi pertanyaan banyak pihak. Apalagi, setelah skuad besutan Ralf Rangnick harus tersingkir di semifinal Liga Champions, kalah agregat 6-1 dan Manchester United (2-0 dan 4-1).

Tak hanya itu, Schalke juga dipastikan tak akan tampil di kompetisi Eropa karena masih berjibaku di papan bawah klasemen Bundesliga. Kontrak Raul sendiri akan habis pada 2012 mendatang.

“Saat ini saya masih memiliki kontrak sehatun, tapi kita akan lihat nanti. Saya sangat bahagia di sini dan yang sudah pasti adalah akan tetap bersama Schalke musim depan,” tandas Raul usai laga di Old Trafford.

“Ketika Anda bahagia dan memiliki kelanjutan, ini sangat membantu. Sekarang kami akan fokus di DFB Pokal dan mencoba memenanginya,” imbuh pemain kelahiran 33 tahun silam.

Meski akhirnya harus melupakan tampil di final Liga Champions di Wembley, Raul mengaku tak terlalu kecewa. “Saya selalu senang tampil di Liga Champions meski harus berakhir dengan kekalahan,” kata Raul.

“Kami tahu memiliki tugas berat, tapi tim selalu mencoba bermain sepakbola,” pungkasnya, sebagaimana dilansir Goal, Jumat (6/5/2011).
