Jelang MU vs Schalke, Rooney diragukan Tampil

Jakarta - Manchester United menerima kabar kurang baik menjelang duel penentuan menghadapi Schalke 04. Wayne Rooney mengalami cedera dan belum pasti dapat dimainkan.

Dalam warta sebelumnya, Rooney diberitakan berlatih terpisah dengan skuad MU pada latihan hari ini Selasa (3/5) waktu setempat. Namun faktanya bomber Inggris itu tidak ikut berlatih karena mengalami cedera hamstring.

MU akan melakukan tes terkait kondisi Rooney beberapa jam sebelum pertandingan dan memutuskan apakah sang pemain bisa diturunkan dalam pertandingan di Old Trafford, Kamis (5/5) dinihari WIB itu.

"Tidak, dia tidak berlatih," aku Sir Alex Ferguson seperti dikutip Sky Sports. "Dia menderita cedera hamstring paha jadi kami meninggalkannyar hari ini tapi kami akan melihat kondisinya dia besok."

Absennya Rooney jelas merupakan kerugian buat "Setan Merah". Persepakbola 25 tahun ini menjadi nyawan permainan MU dan sempat membobol gawang Schalke di leg I pekan lalu.

Meski demikian, MU menerima suntikan tenaga dari lini tengah seiring dengan kembalinya Darren Fletcher ke skuad. Gelandang Skotlandia itu sudah absen dalam dua bulan terakhir akibat serangan virus.

"Darren Fletcher akan tampil di pertandingan besok. Dia sudah bekerja keras dan dia akan dilibatkan," demikian Ferguson.
