Sir Alex Ferguson Tak Pikirkan Dendam dengan Barca


MANCHESTER-Setan Merah melangkah ke final setelah menghancurkan Schalke 4-1 di Old Trafford. Hasil 4-1 tersebut menjadikan United unggul agregat 6-1, berkat kemenangan 2-0 pada leg pertama di Veltin Arena.

Di laga final nanti, Setan Merah akan kembali bersua dengan Barcelona. Kedua tim pernah saling bersua di final Liga Champions 2009 di Olimpico Roma. Manchester United harus puas menjadi runner up setelah kalah 2-0 dari Barca.

Seperti dilansir timesofindia.com, Fergie memberi wejangan pada timnya agar tidak terbuai akan kehebatan Barcelona musim ini. Ini dimaksudkan, agar mental anak asuhannya tetap terjaga jelang duel final di Wembley nanti.

“Saya rasa kami tidak akan kekurangan kepercayaan diri di Wembley nanti. Barcelona sedang dalam top performa musim ini, tapi kami telah bermain sebagai tim yang hebat. Jadi kami tidak perlu takut karenanya, “ jelas Ferguson.

Meskipun begitu, Fergie mengaku sempat cemas dan berusaha menghindari pertemuan dengan Barcelona selama musim ini. Pelatih asal Skotlandia ini mengungkapkan, dirinya lebih senang bertemu tim lain di final.

”Sejujurnya, kamu berharap kami menghadapi Brechin City di final atau tim semacam itu. Tanpa bermaksud menghina Brechin City dan saya suka klub tersebut,” canda Ferguson.

Fergie juga menolak opini tentang final akan menjadi ajang balas dendam terhadap kekalahan di Roma dua tahun lalu. “Pembalasan dendam bukanlah yang utama. Saat ini yang terpenting adalah kesempatan kami untuk memenangkan trofi Eropa,” tutup Ferguson.
